The other day I heard the voices of Ozzie and Harriet on the radio , and I suddenly realized how much I missed them. I also miss Don Knotts, and Paul Lynde, and 'Horshack' and 'Fred Mertz'. I miss 'Buck Rogers' and 'Ming the Merciless' and crisp, clear autumn Saturdays at my college football games. Guess I could go on forever. Just wondered what you guys missed?
I miss Fatty Arbuckle , Joseph Conrad and Rudy Vallee.
I don’t miss any of them. I look forward to them on WNAR online streaming of old radio shows 24/7.
Going fishing with my Daddy.
Going out to the farm and climbing in the hay loft.
Playing Cowboys & Indians in the woods.
I miss America.
Being a young teenager sitting in Riverfront Stadium watching the Reds battle the hated Dodgers. Woody Hayes. Mariemont Junior High School. Drinking Little Kings with my buds. Cincinnati Stingers hockey. The Commodores. Monday Night Baseball on NBC with Tony Kubek and Joe Garagiola. Kiss concerts. High school dances. And sooooo much more.
George Goebel, Dean Martin,Bob Hope, Jack Benny, Myron Cohen, Victor Borge ...
In other words - comedians, not comics.
Andy Devine and Froggy on Saturday mornings.
I miss the Rangers actually scoring some runs.
I miss Jack Benny calling out, “Oh, Rochester...” and then Rochester’s gravely voice answering.
More.
Playing in the cemetery, on the railroad tracks and gravel pit.
My “friends” on Fakebook miss some mediocre stupid rock groups from the 60s and 70s, and while I often post links to some great new stuff on Youtube, Americana mostly, they seldom if ever press LIKE. I tell ya, I don’t miss nostalgia at all. It sucks, it leads us to early death!
No you not. You not pretty enough be miss America.
You not even first run up.
I miss the cool uniforms of the German soldiers.
Beat me to it. First thing that came to me.
Roy Rogers and Dale Evans at the Sat. matinee ( nickel popcorn)—then going to play it again with friends ‘til dark.
I’ve been plucking my magic twanger ever since.
I miss watching Gumby and Pokey early on Saturday mornings. I’d pour myself a bowl of Fruit Loops and have not a care in the world.
