Now say it's 81 JOBS PER DAY, PER STATE .... THIS IS NOT A RECOVERY!
The declining participation rate, coupled with the persistently high unemployment rate, is actually very depressing.
I’m not sure why the parades are beling planned to celebrate today’s numbers.
242 million people were employed on Barry’s first day....243 million are employed today. Not exactly keeping up with the population growth.
I’d like to exactly which states are doing the hiring. My guess is it’s the Republican led states. This is a golden opportunity for R/R.
Unfortunately, this is an ever-decreasing percentage of the population. On the radio this a.m. I heard that the household jobs number is based on a telephone survey of 60,000 households. I would like to see where the new (one-third changes each month) households surveyed are located. Are they in areas where there are more typically hard-working people than in previous surveys?
People count as employed if they start a business of any kind from their homes. What does this mean, posting a notice on a neighborhood bulletin board that you are willing to babysit, walk dogs, mow lawns? Does the simple act of posting the notice move you from unemployed to employed in the BLS statistics? Did BLS change methodology or definitions used for this statistic just this month? I can find statistics on the BLS website, but not answers to these questions.
DO YOU WANT FRIES WITH THAT?

Jack Welch: Obama Cooking the Books on Jobs

The U.S. economy added a net 114,000 jobs in September, while the unemployment rate fell to a surprisingly low 7.8 percent, a number former GE boss Jack Welch described as cooked up by the Obama administration.
The September jobs number brought the unemployment rate below 8 percent for the first time in about four years.
Total employment rose by 873,000 in September, following three months of little change, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

“Unbelievable jobs numbers ... these Chicago guys will do anything ... can’t debate so change numbers,” Welch said on his Twitter page, referring to President Barack Obama’s performance in the first presidential debate earlier this week.
Other experts expressed similar surprise.

I just figured out how they came up with the numbers!
ALTERNATE UNIVERSE (CRANIAL RECTAL INVERSION) SYNDROME!
Was that figure calculated using 50 states or 57?
That’s what happens when our golfer-in-chief focuses like a laser beam on j-o-b-s...
It’s not just the number either, it’s the type of job. Under Obama we’ve been losing good paying mfg jobs and being replaced by burger flippers (not that there’s anything wrong with that).
Clarify that just a bit:
For every 1 new job, 12 jobs lost.
