Parents raise ruckus over ‘quiet’ rule for kids by Lindsay Field October 06, 2012 01:46 AM | 4129 views | 33 | 8 | | MARIETTA — One Rocky Mount Elementary School parent said a meeting hosted by Principal Gail May on Thursday didn’t ease her mind about new “quiet lunch” rules and said she’s considering sending her child to a different school.
“I do not feel any better,” Laura Stubbs said. “It is not in the best interest of the children.”

“Once they get out there, they must sit down,” she said. “This is where there has also been a bone of contention, because the students have to sit on their bottoms. The purpose is because if they sit on their knees, knees turn into knee walking, etc.”
Recess is sitting down?
Why would anyone have their children in government indoctrination centers?
Make the brats square their meals while they’re at it.
The principal should require all teachers to model that same behavior at all times. No teachers chatting in the lunch room. No teacher chatting in the break room. No teacher chatting in the hallway.
We were, however, allowed to be kids, and the teachers coped (with drugs).

I heard if the kids volunteer to become Kapos they get better treatment.

This ‘quiet rule’ has been around since my kids started school some years ago. It’s absurd. I’ve witnessed it when eating lunch with my kids in elementary school. Quite frankly......I don’t know what in the hell the purpose is.
I’ve told my kids, this evening, to tell the EPA to shove it up their asses (not in those words) if they are appointed to be ‘government snitches’ for ‘green energy’. Apparently.....they get a vest, a clipboard, and a name tag and get to check thermostats and classrooms to see if the school is ‘energy efficient’. I told them that NEXT.....they’ll be asked to spy on mommy and daddy to see if WE are at home. Then report back.
Just be thankful they haven’t implement the Two Minute Hate yet!
When I was homeschooling, that was the constant mantra:
“What about socialization??”
My response was that the school system was the most unnatural environment for developing children and that they did NOT learn realistic social skills there.

Indeed. I don’t even know where to begin to comment on this article the mandates are so wrong on so many levels. Do we have any child educators or nutritionists any more, or just affirmative action, know nothing hirees? I feel like we’ve self realized “Idiocracy.”

they really are not educators, their facist with just a little power...I can imagine what the rules would be if they had absolute power.
