She used a .40 Glock which she had never fired before. Says a lot about Glocks usability.
My only issue is that the girl had never used the pistol before. In my house firearms training starts pretty early. I would never want someone to have to use a weapon for the very first time when they are in mortal danger. Major kudos for the girl being able to pull it off. I hope they get her some range time after this.
The perfect ending to this story:
1. NRA gives her a free lifetime membership.
2. local gun range gives range time and some lessons for free.
3. Glock sends her a .40 caliber for her 18th birthday.
4. instead of shooting the perp in the arm, she blows off his johnson.
I have to agree with you on one point, though - I believe at least
introducing proper firearm handling early, as I wouldn't want a member
of my family to have a first experience at a time of desperation.
