There was without question all kinds of knowledge by EVERYONE that the place was under violent attack. No code words or messages need be sent when the Whitehut, Pentagon, and various operating centers, including onboard carriers, throughout the world were watching events unfold in realtime in video, sound, radio comms, emails, etc.

OBAMA WENT TO BED TO GO TO LAS VEGAS THE NEXT DAY!!!

While all the action was taking place Obama went to bed. I have no doubt he was HAPPPY that things went against the US over there. Obama HATES this country.

Speculative fact? Is there a source for this? Because I've read this but it always seems speculative.

No doubt it is FACT.

It is only speculative in the delusional liberal news. Even if the Benghazi Consulate didn't send the message out, the Consulate axillary building(s) where a force was held back by orders did send the emergency message or the Embassy in Tripoli made the call. Take your pick.

All has been relegated to file 13, commonly known as a Hillary-inspired-investigation that will be delayed until after the election, chaired by Pickering, who is a known sympathizer to all things Arab. Got it?

Now you will likely not be satisfied with anything but the “official” government determinations of all events, while ignoring live audio, live video, live testimony under oath to Issa’s committee and all subsequent leaks coming from the abandoned— the soldiers on the ground, the military witnesses on the ground, in the air and on the sea who heard it all on their own transmissions, and who were ordered to “stand down”, which Panetta admitted.

Uh...the SEALS were brave as heck but in fact that was a bad decision, from an intel perspective.

Yea, I sometimes think Obama's like that.

But no one in charge could think their way out of the fubar.

Actually, the Sec Def or Sec State do not individually come up with plans by themselves.

They would simply say "Yes", i.e., give the order to their respective staffs to do what they do.

The President would only hae to do the same thing, just say "Yes", try to get them out.

From there, they would only watch and have to perhaps authorize other things from time to time.

The President and Cabinet-level people do not have to come up with tactical plans.

In order to start the process however, since it would involve things like going into another nation's airspace, etc., it must first get that initial "Yes" authorization, from a person authorized to give it. I would assume in this case that they would need the President to say "Yes", the same as the UBL kill. From there the senior people just watch the movie.

As of today, there are un-refuted allegations that a CIA operative on the rooftop of the safe house had a laser sighting device pointed at the terrorist mortar crew that was killing Americans, but nobody would allow the AC130 gunship circling overhead to take out the terrorists.

That’s about all you need to know to know that 0bama sacrificed Americans lives.

The “Why” is in 0bama’s head, and we can offer conjecture. But as of now, all we know is 0bama LET THEM BE KILLED.

Maybe 0bama couldn’t say “Yes” because Valerie Jarrett hadn’t approved.

I’d like to know what was going on when the Cairo embassy puts out an “apology” about that video tape on Facebook and Twitter before the rioting and protests started, and the fact the tape existed went viral.

I don't believe secrets trump lives, but then I'm not in the spy business where sometimes they probably do make those sorts of decisions.

I'm saying that if the administration held back because of risk of political fallout for his re-election campaign, than that would be misfeasance.

It may be likely that they held back because The Ambassador was involved in a CIA operation and probably shouldn't have been put in that position, and that the administrations may have taken the situation lightly and tried low hanging fruit and low key methods so that the former wouldn't be revealed, but where quickly overwhelmed by circumstances and not having credible awareness of what was happning -- until it was too late.

Umm....you asked two great questions.

As for question 1, the answer depends on the underlying nature of the secrets, and I doubt the pair were witting to everything going on at the "annex". So I don't know, but a better answer is that the SEAL pair also did not know, they only knew that two US lives nearby were in danger, and they made that call suddenly, as things were happening --that's how life works, a lot of the time.. I don't know the secrets we lost at the captured annex and I think we'll never know. But that was a great question.

As for question 2, the answer would depend on whether or not the act of saving the Ambassador's life would come at the cost of losing the annex with the secrets there--I presume you imply that the rescue would involve that loss. And my answer is, "maybe".

Not good answers, but your questions were great.

You should remember this conversation in case some airliners get shot down in the near future. I'm not saying I know that some will but I'm SURE that the chances of that happening just went up, since a big part of the mission at the annex had been to protect against that.

While I was already worried about that I'm more worried now and the biggest worriers will be Hillary and Hussein, now. Or they SHOULD be, I guess I should say...mostly it seems they worry about their own hides, though...

Which is more sensitive, the info at the Annex or the HumInt from a seasoned US Ambassador who had just had discussions with a Turkish envoy when Syria and Al Qaeda are primary adversaries in the region?

The Annex wasn’t being attacked at the time and had more security.

The personal guard of the Ambassador was in direct comm requesting emergency support during a several hour attack.

Of all resources in the region, which person is to be guarded the most? It’s the Ambassador being attacked directly on US soil,...an act of war.

I'm thinking of the movie "Broken Arrow" starring John Travolta where he steals two nukes.

Broken Arrow, a nuclear incident, especially involving a missile that has gone missing.Whikipedia

This I know for certain: Obama and about 300-400 of his administration knew the Benghazi consulate — and CIA safe house — were under attack. (Some administration members even watched the real time video feed of the attack.) Four Americans, including our ambassador Stevens, died.

Assets were ready for the “go” signal to launch a rescue operation — including an AC-130U gunship that could have been overhead in less than two hours — because the attack lasted for seven hours. POTUS Obama, SecState Clinton, SecDef Panetta, and DCI Patraeus are guilty of dereliction of duty and criminal negligence resulting in these four deaths. They are also responsible for compromised national security materials. The buck stops with them.

It seems very likely that the chance of airliners getting shot down went up because the administration vacillated and refused to authorize a forceful response, thereby affirming the Islamicists belief that the U.S. is a decaying power, a paper tiger that will not retaliate. We certainly do not know that the annex was attacked because the ambassador was protected. There seems to be considerable confusion about this.

This post is directed to all who have joined in this topic and not necessarily usagi_yo.

The ex SEALS were probably motivated by a need to help and likely got into a really bad situation in the name of fighting for the USA. I can’t explain how brave and selfless they were. They had guts, many times more than their Commander-in-Chief, in my estimation.

The CIA is now saying that they never told anyone not to aid the Ambassador or anyone in need:

A reporter walked in there the next day and found the Ambassador’s personal diary, just laying on the ground.

Among the many questions we need answered, why didn’t the CIA go in there and clean out all sensitive document and material?
