Something tells me you aren't paying attention. The media and the NHC have stressed...over and over and over again that it's not the wind...its the surge. When you are looking at near record or record surge around NY...that is no "overblown hype."

What has been said OVER AND OVER again ( to those listening) about the wind is tropical storm force with gusts to hurricane force...especially on the southwest side. But because of the leaves on the trees...you are looking at massive power outages.

How is a record surge into NYC an overhype? Irene caused 15 BILLION in damage and this will certainly top that when it is all said and done.

I think anything that causes 15-20+ Billion in damage is worth attention.

When it gets 24-7 coverage to the exclusion of other big stories, it IS an overhype.

I never said it wasn’t a big and important storm.

But $15-20 Billion is chump change compared to the damage that the Democrats are doing. :p

Why bring up NYC? I wouldn’t care if it became the new Atlantis. I am not having sympathy, I know that Bloomberg will save NYC by banning salt water or something anyway. lol
