As Obama and Christie flew over Point Pleasant Beach, sand and water could be seen covering several blocks of the community. But the president got a reminder of next week's election: someone had written "ROMNEY" in large letters in the sand at the north end of the beach.

Did Hueesin find a mysterious pile of pebbles and use them to pensively craft a memorial cross for the cmaeras?
East Texas, near where the Big Sandy and Sabine rivers collide, I have family who live in a little “village,” it isn’t big enough to be a town. Each structure there is built on 15’-20’ tall stilts - all the houses and even the convenience store and pool hall!
Now THAT is good planning!
Lots of them are still on the dole. But they stayed in Houston.
My grandmother lived in South Florida, so I grew up visiting her often. Her house was away from the water’s edge and was built with concrete block. It has withstood a lot of hurricanes. Of all the places hubby and I have lived, Virginia Beach was my favorite. We lived on high ground though that didn’t do a lot of good when the roads were flooded. Lol. Thankfully, the roads did not stay flooded for even a day.
Sandy beaches should be left as first found....sandy beaches.
Building homes on them, putting in all the utilities including natural gas....what would you expect in a furious storm?
Home owners across the nation pays increases in insurance for these (in many cases) second homes.
Prayers go out to all in the path of the storm. My advice use the beaches as the good Lord intended.
Yesssssssss!!!
I lived in Williamsburg Va for a year. Every afternoon, there was a torrential rain that lasted for 15 minutes. Seemed God didn’t want to waste a lot of TIME on keeping things green....What a Plan!!

For playing paddle ball and surfing?
They are both. Mile for mile, NJ probably has more continuous shore towns along its coast than probably any other state, most of them along the 'barrier islands' that border all along its coastline.
I live in NJ, and Sunday helped my in-laws move up furniture from 1st to 2nd flr from their shore house on a lagoon in Beach Haven West, before Sandy struck later the next day. Good thing we did, the entire area ultimately went under water when Sandy struck.
We need a picture to send around the internet! LOL
Wonder if it’s in Christi’s hand writing!!!!
Yes, I am sure it must be a minor misstep
NOT one photo?
Unreal!
Oh to be a fly on the wall of that helicopter....priceless!
Glad y’all got everything of value upstairs. I pray for all the people who have lost so much in this storm. I am reminded of the folks in another of our home towns and how they reacted after the tornado that destroyed so much of Tuscaloosa last year. The people who lost houses or stuff were just so happy to be alive. It is very humbling when you see destruction of such magnitude.
Thanks. I live clear across the other side of the state (by Philadelphia), but just an hour’s drive to the shore / Atlantic City.
Lol...hope someone has a pic cause the media sure didn’t take one you can be sure.
I just tried finding a pic...nothing came up. If someone finds, please post! Priceless.
Yes, I’m sure you’re right - no photos. There is, however, a nauseating photo of Bambi giving Sucker Christie a condescending pat on the back.
Christie is such a fool. It’s hard for me to believe that he was dumb enough to let himself be used in this way. Even Bloomberg said no when Bambi called and invited himself to NYC.
