I don’t understand “destination weddings”. The bride & groom expect guests to shell out money to get to & stay at the “destination” and then give a wedding gift besides?!?!?!

Unless it’s someplace I want to go to for a vacation (and that would eliminate about 80% of the world), I’m not spending my hard-earned money on a trip to a place I have no interest in.

Agreed. Can’t stand the idea of destination weddings unless the bride and groom want to pay for every guest’s plane ticket and hotel room. I thought the destination was supposed to be where the happy couple went to honeymoon.

I know a couple who’s having a Vegas destination wedding. Excuse me, but they can’t pay their bills as it is. Neither can their parents or siblings. They have creditors calling and have had to move and change phone numbers (thanks so much, now the rest of us get those losses passed on to us) so they can’t be found. Sorry, they can just miss my glorious presence and presents ‘cause I ain’t playin’ that game.
