Bring Compassionate Conservatism and Stop letting Palin pick for Senate (vanity)
Self

Posted on 11/06/2012 10:11:34 PM PST by indianrightwinger

The easy part first. Let us stop letting Palin pick Senate nominees. She is a pundit. Nothing more.

Tough part - bring back compassionate conservatism but with reform principles and less war/bravado.

The near collapse of the financial system on Dubya’s watch trumped in the end.

Why rag on Sarah's Senate picks?

Palin supported Orrin Hatch from Utah and Cruz from Texas. They both won.

She condemned Akin and asked him to step down. He didn't. He lost.

She endorsed Mourdock in the Ind primary over Lugar. He won that one.

But the media tripped him up on the abortion - rape issue. Same with Akin. Republicans have to get a good answer on this question.

All in all her record is pretty good.

“Aligning our political message with the population is.”

You sure have that turned around. You can NOT lead from behind. Massive fail. Greece does that. Go live there.

And your solution to 2016 is what? Limit your appeal to Mississippi and Alabama?

Bush’s fault was winning 2 elections for us? Especially, the first one during economic boom?

Get over it. He knew how to get an electoral majority. What did him in was Iraq war and housing bubble (yes, he could have done more to prevent).

Murdoch lost IN

She did not endorse Akin. She endorsed Steelman.

What other losers did she endorse?

I agree we should embrace a path to citizenship.

And that path should go over a bridge that terminates on the other side of the Rio Grande where Illegal vermin invaders can return to assume citizenship in their homeland.

Very well said, CAHK.

This may very well qualify as the post of the month. Had a fearless Conservative administration conducted another unapologetic Operation Wetback a few decades ago, America would still be America instead of rapidly heading down the path to a Banana Republic with Obama at the helm.

“it’s time to embrace a path to citizenship and make it our own policy.”

Absolutely not!!!

Enforce the law, give employers 30 days to get rid of illegals and any caught employing one after that is $10,000 fine for firsr offense and 5 years in prison for a second offense!

The illegals will be gone in 90 days!

If you want ‘compassionate conservatism’ and you think that is such an a number one winner then why did Romney lose? You are delusional. That is not name calling it is based on observed action and statements.

You want to align with winning political messages? Then walk right over to the dem side.

Romney was excellent in this campaign. He articulated a good conservative economic message. But, the reason he lost is because he did not make people feel like he cared enough about the needy and disadvantaged. That is the essence of compassion. Bush did it brilliantly. You can live in alternate reality. But, that won’t win national elections.

On another thread, I made a promise to myself:

That since I am 84 and retired, and since I no longer need to tolerate fools in order to close a deal or get a job, I will no longer tolerate fools.

Nor will I discuss politics with them.

Anyone who has not learned the lesson of the last four years is beyond my patience.

No further comment.

What? Do you mean you don’t have a winning message and therefore want to walk me over to the Dem side? Makes no sense.

Palin didn’t pick the senate candidate, you are looking for a place to lay the blame, She doesn’t have the power you are ascribing to her.

Look closer to home.

Aligning our political message with the people is your answer to winning elections? Reagan got people to align their thinking with the Founders by pointing to the failings of big government and won two landslides.

I don't care what color the socialist is, or what border he snuck across, but America doesn't change colors for anyone. The people who re-elected Obama don't know the real America and that will soon smack them upside the head.

Your Palin envy is noted, firewater breath.

Bring back Compassionate Conservatism? Hell no!

Militant Conservatism is more like it!

After tonight it must be very clear. If we are going to live free again we are going to have to absolutely insist.

Damn. I don't even know where to start. While you're agreeing with this dumbass poster that thinks we all let SP pick our Senate nominees and that Compassionate Conservatism (whatever the hell that is) is the way to go, you pile on with even more stupidity!

Are you or are you not aware that this nation has, and always has had, "a path to citizenship"?

Well meangreen, are you aware of that FACT?

you blather on about nothing. Bush used ‘compassionate conservatism’ to run this country into bankruptcy. His fellow ‘conservatives’ helped him out. He wanted to do ‘immigration reform’ right after 9-11 and conservatives stopped him. Until we stand and protect our borders, language, and culture conservatives will always be trying to sound like the other stupid party. It is time to tell the truth. We need to treat people as grown ups. Government hand outs are death. ILLEGALS should be sent home....at the very least they should be treated like the criminals they are. They should NOT be allowed to work and employers should be PUMNISHED for hiring them. That is what conservatism is all about.

Go peddle your ‘message’ to some one who is as addlepated as you

Romney gave 30 million last year alone to charity.

But you say he did not demonstrate feeling for his less fortunate fellow man.

No, he demonstrated it with his pocketbook, not with worthless words and clichés.

The unfortunate thing about is is that the typical voter is as ignorant of the facts as you.

Romney was not my choice, but he is so far better than obumbler that it is a national disgrace that he is in the oval office and a worse disgrace that he gets to spend the next four years there.
