Perhaps you're right. Like many Americans; I am pretty angry this morning.
I am right there with ya....
We need to stop looking for Reagan. He is gone and there is a reason he was unique. There is only one of them.
Watching the returns last night, the anchors were acting like this was a sporting event with analysis the likes of which you don’t see on the superbowl.
If this is the world we are living in, we are just screwed. The rest of the world plays soccer. The folks in Russia and the Middle East are serious. Serious about the wrong stuff—but serious none the less. And they think we are weak and that we are fools.
We will see the second Carter Administration, and it will be ugly.
We need to run someone who will call the plays as he sees them. We should not have run from the 47% videos—we should have screamed about that from the roof top, but at the same time giving those 47% hope that it can and will get better.
We need to stop running candidates that voice opinions about how God can use rape for his purposes. Even a six year old knows that you can think something, but you do not have to say it.
We need to get serious about winning and serious about what our goals are. Without that vision, we will fail. Miserably. Someone has to come out and tell me and my peers that Social Security will not look the same when we get there. Someone needs to tell me and my peers (I am 52) that life will continue to be unfair. We need to cut spending, and yes, we will need to change the revenue structure and some taxes will be raised. I know its heresy—but if we cut spending for two years and show some discipline, we can afford to moderate taxes for everyone—and that means some taxes go up.
We are up against the wall. The GOP is dead. For good this time I am afraid. We need to get new leaders with vision and create a new party that will deal with the fiscal issues and leave the preaching to the preachers.
We need to deal with what is Caesar’s, and let God deal with his stuff.
