I am in a wonderful marriage...thank God.
I admit to losing my sense of humor, temporarily, over the fraudulent “selection” and the prurient angle the brown-nosing-Bath-House-Barry-Press has taken when military families have lost loved ones who were patriots.
Perhaps I shouldn’t have responded to YOUR post, but to Pat Robertson’s website. His “boys will be boys” explanation rubs me the wrong way, and women seem ETERNALLY to be blamed for not remaining the attractive brides they were 20-30-40 years prior to a man’s adultery.
But, exactly what was it that “Holly dear forgot”?
Not to age?
I fully understand how easy it is not to have any humor in these days - I struggle with it myself. The marriage comment was tacky on my part, and I apologize for that. I know a lot of people I know who slog thru awful marriages are the most vindictive when a man or a woman strays. Those in good marriages do not condone it, but generally understand it - and understand that nothing is a one sided story.
As for what Holly forgot? She forgot to try - to keep trying - to keep “dating” your spouse. That’s been a key to my marriage. We have kids 16-25, but both look and act much younger and we still “date.”
Even going to the “Weekend to Remember” couples get away this coming week. Not because we’re in trouble...but because we want to keep “trying” so we don’t get in trouble....
Gotta try, always try, to stay as young and fresh as possible. That way, it’s not a slog.
