Terrible cans anyway. The models from years and years ago are fine, if you don’t depend on them. The ones with the lawyer-proof nozzles are just useless.
Everytime one of these companies goes out of business, I just think “If I had a sheetmetal shop...”
I know a few of you out there must have a sheet metal shop.
I had a 20 year old John Deere can and was heart broken when I backed over it and trashed it.
better yet...manufacture the old red tried and true heavy plastic gas cans...label them “FOR WATER ONLY”
I have a bunch of those with the stupid nozzle that lets air into them as you pour. Takes forever to fill my mower. I have a couple that have a vent at the back with a cover. I love that one as it saved much time while holding 5 gallons of gas upside down. I’ve thought about making a vent hole and cover for the others.
Well in just THREE uses, I spilled more gas than I ever spilled IN MY ENTIRE LIFE (and I'm 51) using the old reliable cans. I hope the lawyers, greenie weenies, or whoever was responsible for the change are happy with the outcome. It's 10 times worse.
On the plastic cans, the threads are primarily the same from brand to brand. I have tossed all nozzles, keep the caps and use one really nice flexible nozzle on any can I need to pour from. I wet myself with gas one time with the crappy, totally non-functional 'lawyer-inspired' nozzle you speak of. Threw them all out.
