I agree with your post, this was a lowbrow stunt.
Maybe you should write Beck a strongly worded letter letting him know of your deep emotional anguish and whimpering chagrin.
“Claim they don’t like this sort of thing when the other side does it. Why on earth do you want to be like them.”
Rush call this demonstrating absurdity, with absurdity.
For many this goes way over their heads, as you have demonstrated.
“Civility” is a one-way street. ALL streets are one-way streets when dealing with Marxists. “Civility” is just another name for denial—denial that we are in a war with Marxists.
You can’t kill 56 million babies and have “civility.” Or, rather, you shouldn’t.
If Mitt Romney had run against: 1) the killing of 56 million babies (I remember GHW Bush, in his 1984 debate with Ferraro, leaning into the microphone and saying: “There have been 15 million abortions.” It will be 60 million in 2016, and a Republican who repeated that number in every speech would win. Most Americans think there have been, maybe, a couple of million abortions—most of them after a rape.) ; 2) government spying, reading our e-mails, groping us in the airports; 3) government putting people in jail for filling in little low spots on their property (”wetlands”), and other insanity from the EPA; 4) military men rotting in prison for being mean to the enemy in Iraq and Afghanistan; 5) fiat money since 1971; 6) the income tax (and for the FAIR Tax); 7) trade with Muslim countries; 8) immigration (The 1965 Immigration should be repealed in toto.)—he would have carried 45 states.
Romney’s campaign was antiseptic and bloodless. A pro-life candidate shouldn’t run against “abortion,” he should run against “the killing of 56 million babies.” He needs to tell stories, like Reagan, of people out of work, people unjustly rotting in jail, people being abused by the government, people being terrorized by unions and the government. No Republican since Reagan has talked this way.
Claim they dont like this sort of thing when the other side does it. Why on earth do you want to be like them.
When THEY do it, they are ridiculing good people. When WE do it, we are ridiculing evil people.
So doing it DOESN’T make us like them.
In a battle, the enemy dictates the rules, sometimes you have to go to their level. That said, it is time we gave them their own medicine.
We’ve played take the high road and Mr. Nice Guy - no MORE!! Even Mark Levin said that every conservative should read “Rules For Radicals,” and do unto others.
We’ve stood back and taken the leftist crap far too long. Yeah, running on issues is the key. Just ask Bob Dole, John McCain an Mitt Romney. It sure worked out swell for them, didn’t it?
The lefties don’t lose with this sort of thing and it’s way past time that our side started playing fire with fire.
I think it was a bad idea; civility, is what you want.
There was nothing civil about the way our forefathers dealt with the British leading up to the war of independence. Civility leads to chains when you are dealing with evil men.
Welcome to the new America. We have been nothing but civil and got our a$$'s kicked. Time to fight fire with fire.
Revelation 3:16....So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.
agree. but this is what I’ve come to expect from GB, who seems to have issues with mature behavior and, unlike Limbaugh, who can articulate
a consistent POV, tends toward juvenile stunts like this which are more appropriate to teenage boys or clown posses.
I agree with you that what Beck did is “un-civil.” However, the time for softball ended in about February 2009. This sort of tactic should have been used from the beginning of the poseur’s first term. Had the Republicans had the guts to attack the idiot with the venom his behavior and actions deserved, we might not be in the situation we are in now.
It’s probably too late already, but the only thing that may halt this assault on our country is to mercilessly ridicule Obamugabe in the extreme.
