Great, thanks for the post! In the early 90’s there was a local radio station in Orange County (CA) that played these old radio shows. My favorite was listening to The Shadow programs (the Shadow knows).

One of my earliest memories is listening to The Lone Ranger and Gunsmoke on the radio, around 1956 or so. Thanks for the heads up.

Does anyone remember a weekly radio show from the ‘50s that was about our National Parks? We listened to it in class every Thursday at 10 in the morning with students facing the big wooden radio up front like they do TV now. Great theme music and interesting info about the parks. Wish I could remember the name of the program.

Nice, but, it leaves out two of the greatest Radio shows.

The Goon Show, the funniest radio show ever, and, the CBS Radio Mystery theater.

I love OTR. Use to listen to it in the 80s as a kid from a local radio station. Now you can download podcasts to your iphone, which is awesome. So much free content. I love the old detective shows and science fiction. It really works your imagination.

I hadn’t seen this site, bookmarked for future use. It appears to be more comprehensive than some of the other OTR sites.

Another source is here:

Also, for Jean Shepherd fans:

The sad thing is that people are copying these freely available shows to CD or DVD and selling them to suckers on eBay.
