In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

a slight trace, as of a particular taste or flavor.
Etymology: 1760–70; < French: a suspicion, Middle French sospeçon < Late Latin suspectiōn- (stem of suspectiō ), for Latin suspīciō suspicion
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

we had our Christmas party yesterday and i have been woefully/blessedly out of touch with the news, since i was cooking, clenaing, entertaining and generally just exhausting myself for the last 4 days or so. where in the world was she concussed? A++

It was announced on Saturday. She was suffering from a “stomach virus” and “fainted and hit her head”. She did not go to the hospital, but she will be “unable to testiffy on Benghazi” this week. She’s resting “at home”.
