Key West Florida rings in the New Year by dropping a drag queen, who rides down in a high heeled shoe. "Sushi," as she calls herself, has been doing this for 16 years.

I live in Key West from ‘69 to ‘71.
Best place in the states to live back then.
Couldn’t get me back now.
The only thing I miss is the fishing.

Yup. I lived there for a couple of years in the early 1980’s and it was still mostly military and fishing. Loved it.
I was there when they declared themselves the Conch Republic. Interesting times.

The fishing is still good where you are allowed to fish all the way to the Tortugas and beyond. Its not bad here in Islamorada either.Key West has always been a bit weird,today its a lot weird.

Used to live there in the late 70’s as a military brat, it was going “odd” then but it was still a great place to live. Wouldn’t go back there now for anything.
