The equivalent of a 400 sq ft garden costs about $500 for everything except seeds. This set up requires about 20 sq ft of space. There is a small electrical pump which could run off solar but you can also run them manually, without a pump.

You do need sunlight and a stock of the plant food.

Well, it’s space efficient, and gro lights can be stock piled too.(Some plants need long-days of sun). Sounds like it might be worth looking into further.

All right, all right, you gardening “freaks” just won’t let up. :o) Yes, I need to do something about it.

driftdiver; This would have to happen outside, not inside. Do you know of a good book that describes how to do this? I don’t have a clue. Unless you are willing to come to Texas to set this up, HELP ME FIND OUT HOW.
