No, but the .45 ACP is a damned good choice. My lady and I each have.................er, had, prior to that awful boating accident..............Glock 30’s; smaller .45 ACP’s. Major stopping power with virtually zero recoil. Great CCW guns, if a tad on the large side for that purpose. Let us know how hers works out for her.

Don’t own one myself, but from all the reviews I have read, they are an excellent handgun.

I have a PX4 in 9mm and 45. Both are great handguns.

The PX4 is a great weapon. Too bad about retiring the 9mm though, the woman who didn’t kill the intruder dead right there was using .38 Special. The nine is better than that round by a good margin.

Oswald was shot once with a 38. Lots of dead folks passed after tangling with a 38, no need to get rid of something if you are competent with it and can hit your target.

The woman and her children were unharmed, the 38 did its job.

Aw, come on, don’t be so dramatic. Try using 9mm Hornady, Critical Defense.

If you’re not satisfied with the results, I’ll buy the ammo from you.

FD, I have the full size in .40. Good compromise of muzzle velocity, stopping power, and mag capacity.

The firearm platform itself is an outstanding ergonomic design, and you can strip it for cleaning in less than 5 seconds.

That situation had nothing to do with caliber, and everything to do with not being able to shoot worth a damn. Get momma off her butt and take her to the range once a month - 100 to 150 rounds per session should be fine.

And quit with the bullseye target practice - use 9” paper plates or sheets of computer paper at 21 feet...

I assume she got the full size model, if it is a .45?

Can't go wrong with a .45, but there's aboslutely nothing wrong with a 9mm as long as you select premium self defense ammuntion such as Speer Gold Dot 124 grain +P.

A friend of mine has one of those, and he swears by it. Beretta makes good stuff. I bought a semi-auto 12 gauge 13 months ago, and now have over 12,000 rounds through it without a hitch. The gas system is a pain to clean, though.

I heard of a camper that shot a grizzly with a 9 round clip of 9MM before he was eaten,.. shots to the head neck and body..

Every round penetrated.. the bear died a week later..
A 45cal is not a 9MM...

Excellent choice, as long as it is not a model C (DAO).

Screw that. .410 pump shotgun is the best choice.

I’m planning on purchasing a weapon as soon as my permit is processed. As a female novice on the subject of guns, I need to learn all I can about different types, sizes, velocity of guns that women might use. Anyone recommend a good web-site to go to for this?

Remington Golden Saber 9mm ammo will do the same damage to a semi-permeable mass as a .45.............Just saying.
A bit pricey, better than a buck a cartridge, but worth it.
Will admit however, it can't do the damage of a Remington Golden Saber in .45.

I checked one out in a gun store the other day. I can’t speak to function as I didn’t fire it, but I loved the ergonomics. It fit my hand perfectly. I may need one.
