The point is, the Clovis culture marked the peopling of North America on a scale beyond anything preceding it. It was an “explosion”, and findings of earlier incursions, whatever their merit, do nothing to diminish this fact.

The tricky part is that in 20,000 BC, there were no modern "Europeans" -- the Indo-Europeans only came across in 2000 BC to Europe from either Central Asia or the area between the Caspian and Black seas
I don't think there were even the Basque-Georgian peoples there at that point in time.

The Solutreans, whose territory on the European continent was apparently rather compact, may have been forced by encroaching glaciers and extreme cold to cluster on the Atlantic coast. At some point, Stanford and Bradley say, the stresses of overpopulation may have forced some Solutreans to escape by sea. They headed north and west beneath the Atlantic ice sheet to nudge into North America at the Grand Banks of Newfoundland. Can I open a casino and sell tax free smokes?

The question is not when but why? Why would humans want to come to a land ruled not by a president but by a dictator?

Oh my! I wonder what caused all that flora and fauna to go extinct? Do you suppose it was SUVs and “hut-wives” making the wrong choice between paper, or plastic, bags at the grocery grove?

New Evidence Puts Man In North America 50,000 Years Ago Science Daily - November 18, 2004
Radiocarbon tests of carbonized plant remains where artifacts were unearthed last May along the Savannah River in Allendale County by University of South Carolina archaeologist Dr. Albert Goodyear indicate that the sediments containing these artifacts are at least 50,000 years old, meaning that humans inhabited North American long before the last ice age...
"The dates could actually be older," Goodyear says. "Fifty-thousand should be a minimum age since there may be little detectable activity left..."
