Poignant article. Keep 'em off balance, looking to cool widdle him for guidance, above it all. If there's no crisis and the admin's incompetence doesn't create one, then make something up.

This President's tactics are not the only problem, however. The primary problem lies in our own ignorance of history--a knowledge which might have enabled us to prevent such blatant threats to liberty.

C. S. Lewis: “We need intimate knowledge of the past. Not that the past has any magic about it, but because we cannot study the future, and yet need something to set against the present. . . ." Lewis observed: “The scholar (who has studied history) has lived in many times and is therefore in some degree immune from the great cataract of nonsense that pours from the press and the microphone of his own age.”

Clearly, the current President and his fellow "progressives" are either ignorant of the essential philosophy underlying America's ideas of liberty--the principles which caused America to offer hope, opportunity, prosperity, and plenty to hundreds of millions of oppressed individuals for over 200 years--or, they are committed to other ideas which are not based in Creator-endowed liberty for individuals, but in coercive planning and control by some imperfect individuals over other individuals.

The "change" they spoke of in 2008 was based on counterfeit ideas which have enslaved people in every nation where they have prevailed, and those ideas are NOT "progressive." Indeed, they are the same old regressive ideas which motivated every villain who ever bought power for himself and his hangers-on at the expense of the freedom of those he sought to enslave.

Our citizenry has been lulled into a false sense of security by those who will, if not turned back, enslave both present and future generations to petty tyrants who claim benevolence while they practice theft.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C. S. Lewis

Last week (I think), Rush played sound bites from Libs during the 1995 government shut down “crisis”. Word for word what they are saying today (school lunches are gone, grand ma over the cliff, the end of police etc.) It was amazing.
