"Funny, I think I’d have more problem watching the Gospels as I am not too comfortable with mortal men portraying Our Lord Jesus Christ, who is God in flesh."

I see what you mean but listening to someone reading the same words does not bother me so seeing the reader [speaker] is OK with me too.

The OT is to prepare for the NT so my thought is I would like to see that preparation emphasized rather than what seems to be continuous battles. Regards,

As you may have already seen, this is produced by Roma Downey (Touched By An Angel) and her husband Mark Burnett, a devout Christian.
The series is getting positive reviews from conservative Christian groups.

I don’t need to see the show—I read the book.

The book is interesting. I was reading in Matthew the other night. I think Jesus was ill when he was sleeping in the bottom of the boat during the storm. Check this out.

Mat 8:16-24 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side...... And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

I have no idea of the faith of Mark Burnett or Roma Downey, but Touched By An Angel wasn’t Christian; it was Swedeborgian bullcrap. The first year of Survivor (the only one I watched) was won by a man who pretended to be a homosexual so everyone would be cowed into letting him survive, until he proved to be more formidable than his competitors imagined. Mind you, they probably are far more Christ-friendly than your average deranged History-Channel lunatic.

If it’s getting good reviews by conservative Christian groups, that might mean much more to me. Who are you referring to?

I’m recording it to watch at my leisure. I’m also recording the new series “The Vikings,” which also starts on the same channel this Sunday.

geez, maybe you could take a moment and get out of your comfort zone, the person who wrote the review talked about the amazing power of the Bible, of Jesus and the need for Love that is GOD. Maybe that would be a good reason to read the “Christan Post”.

Dude, way too heavy on “law” and far too light on “grace” - try not to lose the forest for the number of leaves on 1 tree branch.

Yes. I am also looking forward to their viking series. I just can’t figure out why they would run both on the same night.
