Corny vid, but brings back memories of when I really did that, many years ago.
I was trying to buy an economy car, but the salesman insisted that I try the fancy car.
Entering the highway at about twice the speed limit, the salesman started to wig out. I said “Shhhh, I’m trying to drive”.
I got this on my facebook page yesterday. I was ROFL. Fake? maybe. Commercial, already happened via this video. Makes me want to go car shopping, we have a couple Camaro’s on the lot at work and a couple new salesmen who don’t know me yet or that I drove stock cars for 5 years. Better not. At any rate I loved the video, best laugh I’ve had lately.
I’m still very skeptical. But like I said, who cares? A fun video.
According to this report the Dealership owner was in on the prank and the car was supplied for the stunt. The salesman however was not in on it. http://www.examiner.com/article/what-happened-behind-the-scenes-of-jeff-gordon-s-pepsimax-prank?cid=rss

I did almost the same with a German car - which I in fact did buy. I drove it like a German. Not quite up to 120 mph though (I have driven at 220 km/h in Germany).
That Jeff doesn’t have a broken nose at the end of the video makes me lean towards the “it’s fake” camp.
Laugh out loud funny.
Years ago, I was looking at and later bought a Dodge Omni GLH Turbo. On the test drive, I ran it a little hard. He was in the back seat behind my wife and told me that the little car was pretty fast and that he took it up to 80 once. I looked back and said “I;m doing 85 now dude.” This was back in the 55mph days so I was doing 30 over.
The new Camero was downgraded in horse power so that it would be just under the Cadilac that has the same engine.
As light as it is it’s one hot car!
Funny, yes.
This would have been very bad if the salesman had a bad heart condition and this stunt caused a heart attack. Just saying.
Makes me think that this ad was planned and everyone was involved from the get-go.
Fake but accurate.
Funny. But I’m reasonably sure driving that way on public street is illegal, even if you’re a pro. The cars he was passing didn’t know what was going on and he could easily have caused a serious accident.
Overall, a dumb stunt.

Waaaay too funny,
Good job.
BTTT
Well I am sure they looked at a Camaro beforehand and told Jeff ‘this is the perfect spot, when you get in, put the can just like this.’
