Grackle -- 11 inches or so. Slim and streamlined. Slim bill. Black will pronounced blue-ish sheen. They glisten.
Crow -- 16 inches or so. Fuller, heavier body. Black. Slim bill.
Raven -- 23 inches or so. Very full body -- a big bird. Black. Larger, substantial bill.

These are Boat tailed Grackles, they do O.K. in the smarts department too. When I was able to get out to the beach a lot they would see me coming and follow the car until I parked. The males aren't quite as trusting but the females would come right in to the car. They recognized me by sight.
