They are predatory critters...kill ‘em to keep ‘em outta my food plot. They are very smart...leave the carcass lay where killed for a couple days, and you will be crow free for a week.
No problem with that. But I have a problem with killing for fun.
Crows amaze me when they’re eating something on the highway and you’re approaching at 80 mph, and, at the last second, they hop out of the way, then hop right back and continue eating.
Used to shoot crows to keep them out of my garden sprouted corn.
Decided to make me a fake dead crow and hang it near the garden. Crows may be smart, but they are not certain enough the fake one is not really Ol Joe to come in for the sweet corn. Now no need to shoot em.
Yea we have no shortage either but I think we have a season on crows
Not like coyotes where its anytime
Crows are smart but they make good target practice
But since I respect them a bit we take our bloodlust out on starlings
