When I was a child someone gave my dad a baby crow. We raised it and it lived in a big cage until it was grown. Then we started letting it out of it's cage during the day and it stayed around in our yard and was a great pet. His name was Roscoe and he learned to say a couple of words. Mostly he said “hello mama” when anyone came out the back door. Roscoe started roaming farther from home and began attacking children walking home from school, walking along and pecking their feet and flying at their heads. After some parents complained, my dad gave him to someone who lived out in the country and I never saw Roscoe again.

Some kids like birds and some crows...seem to know the difference.

Ha we had a pet crow as kids same thing. Show up at window cawing for food at the crack of dawn....steal shiny objects car keys.....we’d ride our bikes down a hill and you’d hear a flap flap and he’d land on your head. His name was Malcom. A local farmer who didn’t like us shot him. So we shot his dog. True story.
