Manti Te'o Falls Out Of The First Round Of The NFL Draft

In a mild surprise, Manti Te'o wasn't picked in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Most experts had him going between 20th and 32nd, with the Minnesota Vikings as the heavy favorite to pick him at in the mid-20s.

But Minnesota passed on him with both of their first round picks. Then, to add insult to injury, they traded up for an THIRD first round pick and drafted wide receive Cordarrelle Patterson instead of Te'o.

It's not like this is a catastrophic fall for Te'o. He was projected to go in the mid-20s, and he'll probably go in the mid-30s tomorrow night instead..

But the Vikings thing should give everyone pause.

This was the one team that was reportedly in love with Te'o. They had three chances to pick him, and they passed.

The media overhyped a mediocre player...when will they start claiming racism?

This says less about Te'o and more about the (low) quality of the "reporters".

“reportedly in love with Te’o”

That always seems to go badly with this guy.

If Al Davis was still alive he never would have made it past the third pick.

Hard to feel sorry for the guy. He’s either a liar or a complete idiot.

Obuma can sign an executive order and give him to the Vikings.

The Vikings love Notre Dame guys, and have 5 already. But WHEN you’re drafted just small piece of process. Manti will be fine

Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner!

An over-hyped player on a much over-hyped team!

A #1 team goes into a national championship game as a double digit underdog?!?!

Tells you all you need to know about the sports media.

He is also vastly overrated and overhyped. Way too small, and too slow to play LB in the pros...just look at what Bama did to him in the BCS game..

He was talking with the Chiefs for several weeks leading up to the draft...they assured him that he would be the #1 pick overall.

Yesterday it was discovered that it wasn’t the Chiefs he had been talking to.

If the Vikings are the only team interested in him then why would they waste their first round pick(s) on the guy? I wasn’t at all surprised he didn’t go in the first round. If the Vikings want him they will more than likely get him, at a discounted rate too.

Why burn a firs round pick on Te’o. I don’t believe that there is much interest by other teams, so leave him out there and pick him up in the late second or even the third round. He is nowhere near the talent that he was hyped to be. He was made to look like an idiot by a quality team in the NC game. There is not a lot of upside with this knucklehead!

Overhyped...yes.

Medicore.....He is one of ILBs considered elite by every scouting service and guru.

Too slow...his first combine time was the same as Ray Lewis, his pro day time was faster than Ray Lewis.

Ray Lewis had a fairly good career in the NFL.

Conclusion: He will be a great value in the second round.

On the Alabama game: When your Dline is getting knocked back into your LBs, it’s a long day for the backers.

wHY WOULD HE EVEN GO IN THE 2,3RD OR 4TH ROUND?

too SLOW- I AM 60 AND CAN RUN AS FAST AS HIM

TERRIBLE TACKLER- Look at the BCS game- did he even have a
tackle in the first half?

Lied about- how tall he is -how big he is

and last- his Jerry Springer Life- might be his only asset-
THE WHOLE team can laugh at him - no matter how bad
they were doing - He will be worse
