Celebrations of sodomy are VERY important to sports organizations...an outspoken Christian? Not so much.

GOD apparently has better things in store for Tim Tebow than to warm a bench for the Sodom City Jets.

I'm a big Tebow fan but a very good argument can be made that cutting him was purely a football decision.

It appears that you would argue that the Jets keep a quarterback who sucks because he is an outspoken Christian.

Look out Tim, God has chosen you which means a lot of unwavering suffering for you, I am sorry. God does not plan for us to enjoy our lives. I am mad about it, but fat lot of good that does

I'm with you, it was a football decision. If Tebow wants to play, he should become a Tight end or H back and play for the next 15 years.

Hopefully the other sodom city, SF, does not sign him.

Tim Tebow is out and Mark Sanchez will be out in the not too distant future. Geno Smith will be the back up until he is ready to start. Once he starts, Sanchez will be the back up or will be cut.

No one should put this in a “good v. evil” context. It’s just football and like life in general, it can be brutally cold.

This is a very tough time to get signed. I don’t think these morons did Tebow any favors by cutting him after the draft. They let the kid sit on the bench last year. I’m convinced the NFL did not want his “Christian antics” getting in the way of football and they brought him to NY to be lost.

Yeah, I agree. This is strictly football.

The Jets went out of their way to pick him up. I am a little annoyed they permanently benched him last year instead of giving him a shot. The guy rallied a team in 2011, and there’s no reason to think what he does in a game is beyond what he shows in practice. That said, he likely is very subpar on the practice field. I heard this in Denver before he got his shot to start. NYJets must have been really down on what he did in practice to essentially relegate him to holding a clipboard. I would have liked to see him get a shot.

Of course, as bad as the Jets were last season after injuries to their best receiver and Revis, it may be a blessing that he didn’t get put in. It would surely have been the end of Tebow. Now, maybe somewhere, he’ll find a spot that works for a few years.

Tebow is a young quarterback with a winning record and a big playoff win. He should be starting somewhere.

Sports is crap. Drugs, gays, betting, and worthless rules have killed the sport. Stop watching it. Turn it off and let is die.

I thought they had already cut him months ago. I guess I haven’t been paying close enough attention. Anyone could have seen this coming. I believe the following is what happened, but Jets fans can correct me if I’m wrong. They brought him in last year, and they started with Sanchez. Sanchez didn’t play well, but they were still relunctant to put Tebow in. They finally put him in, and he didn’t play very well, but they didn’t give him the time they gave to Sanchez. They ended up going with Sanchez again. Rumors abounded that Tebow would be done with the Jets at the end of the season. That’s why I assumed they would cut him.

Tebow is put under a tighter microscope because he is outspoken about his Christian faith. There are those who would love to see him fail. I do hope a team picks him up and gives him a chance to play backup. He is mobile and athletic. Is it possible a team could use him as a RB if the QB spot doesn’t work?

I can't buy your argument, simply because there are many, many Christian athletes in football. Although the networks never show it, many times these brave athletes from both teams will gather to pray on the field after the game.

This was NOT simply the cutting of a lesser player.

This was an active effort to diminish his light and his opportunity to shine in the NFL.

The Jets could have let him go, or traded him long ago, but wanted to limit his future opportunities and the attention focused on him.

Well, he had some great experiences, is still healthy and should be financially set for life.

If football is still in his blood but he can't find another NFL team, a Canadian team should be able to make room on a roster. Things sure went well for Doug Flutie in Canada.

a very good argument can be made that cutting him was purely a football decision.

Acquiring him and letting him rot on the bench in favor of the worst starting QB in the game wasn't.

Yeah, because if you hold hands and pray at the onset of a sporting contest you're a Christian! Or make a super stylish sign of the cross after scoring a touch down! Or giving God the token “point” into the heavens! Or...
