the rate of increase has more than quadrupled

The posted article (taken directly from language from a Reuters article) actually states the above; there's a HUGE difference between the number of suicides quadrupling and the rate of increase quadrupling.

It was stupid, confusing language for Reuters to use, but it was even more stupid to misunderstand it and put in a false headline.
