I got up to 140 in my Z-28 and it felt like I was gonna go air born any second, so I backed off.

I did 157mph in an Audi A3 in Germany. We got passed by a big Mercedes sedan that must have been doing 200.

I’ve had my ‘95 Porsche up to 135 MPH - twice.

The first time (solo), I thought my heart would jump out of my chest.

The 2nd time (not solo), I thought my wife would tear my heart out of my chest.

141 in my old turbo Porsche 944. Had a little more to go but started thinking about the old tires on it.

My 2001 Chrysler 300m was rock steady at 140+ but on corners, any bump allowed me to feel the difference in the front and rear suspension geometry. My main concern was a blowout at that speed, though my tires were rated for it.

Got to 140 in my LS 400, before I backed off. There was still pedal left. At about 90, the car hunkered down to the road, and felt very stable. I had 120 miles to go to get to Nashville, and I thought, “I could be there in an hour!” Then I came back to my senses.

We were doing over 125 in a BMW over the Austrian alps when we started hydroplaning across one of those scenic bridges-you know, the kind that is about 6,000 feet from the ground. We all about wet our pants. That was the last time we tried that.
