AP is spinning this. Jackson is completely black-run and has been for a while, and the blacks who run it make no bones about their racism against whites. It would be a surprise to no one if they elected the Black Panther guy who called for the murder of white babies, for mayor. Whites had nothing to do with this, they’ve all moved away (along with the tax base) years ago.
And you can bet your bottom dollar that when this guy and his supporters start ahowing their teeth against the few remaining white owned and run businesses remaining in Jackon, that those few will leave too. Just like Coleman Young when he put the squeeze to businesses in order to wring the pips out of whites for tax money for “his” constituency.

Are you saying it is Detroit without the ice?
It may not have the ice, but it was never Detroit on its best day. The only thing I can think of which gives it any claim to fame is that its one of the four cities which rotate hosting the International Ballet Competition. Ballet being pretty much a white cultural event.

A little O/T but one of the best BBQ joints out here is owned by Snoop Dog’s uncle, who is from Magnolia, MS. It’s so popular that, if you don’t call in your order at least an hour ahead, you will wait that hour in line to order, and more time seated in the restaurant before you are served.
Not fun, and you learn real quick.
