Hate to say it but the best hot dogs I ever ate was about 40 years ago in Denmark. I still dream about them. They had a long skinny frank that was garlicy on a little short cardboard tasting bun. The topping was a mustardy horseradish and fried onions. Oh my goodness! Yummy! I’ve never been able to replicate them so I’m guessing the secret was in the frank.

You’re right, ketchup doesn’t belong on hot dogs any more than beans belong in chili. We had an exchange student who hated mustard and wanted ketchup on his first dog. Nope, sorry, kiddo. I made his dog with mustard. Ah, he understood!

You oughta see hot dogs in Chile? The country not the food!
They love em as much as the USA, but they really load em up. Italiano or Completeo. End up wearing them as much as enjoying a tasty BIG bite.
