So I tried to use the pillow to cover my head, ignored his pawing, and continued to sleep.
He then touched his cold wet nose to the back of my neck, then I was out of bed in split seconds. Believe me, you are jerked wide awake when something cold and wet touches the back of your neck.
I love that cat! He's not so much a lap cat more of a chest cat (won't be happy until I settle down then he could nap on my chest). The world's bestest cat evah. Absolutely missed the guy, none of my current cats are lap cats or chest cats. They more or less lay by my side.
Wouldn't be a problem if the people were allowed to hunt and kill them themselves........
Actually, they are doing it. The Aborigines hunt and eat the cats.
While I LOVE kittehs, they were brought to Australia to help control the rodent population, but once they get out into the wild, they became the top predator, breeding like crazy, and have been really wreaking havoc on the local wildlife, which are simply unable to cope with the cats.
The government has been promoting the hunting and killing of the cats by the populace.

I think I’ve seen this picture before. But no matter; she’s still a gorgeous girl.

Yeah, that list did have a metrosexual ring to it.
I like cats myself, but far, far prefer dogs. There are so many cats in the world, and some of them are just too aloof to care about. It's hard to get a really good cat.
BTW, if anyone in the Houston, TX area is looking for a cat, I have three black baby kittens that I recently rescued from our attic. The mom had gotten into the attic via a torn out old soffit vent and had the kittens. I repaired all the soffits after the mother cat came down, but kept hearing thumping up there; and the mother cat stayed on the roof meowing. So, I bought some live traps and trapped each kitten one at a time. We will probably take them to a shelter; but they have to reach a weight of 2 lbs first. They are not quite there yet
:
When they want you awake they are relentless!
My cat has no teeth at all...whoever had him before removed them all...so as a last resort he’ll gum my arm...and it’s so funny!..but I know then he means business he wants me up!
“Kitty Kat” likes to sit on my lap while on computer...I’ll go to the cat sites and put some of the yollowing cats up...or dogs barking....also funny...he looks around trying to figure out where they are!
I haven’t dared look for mice sites...he may charge the computer!
This cat isn’t a chest cat...likes to stretch out by my side too... while I rub his belly.
I have just one cat and likely wouldn’t have him except I’m a sucker for a cat in distress....somebody abondoned him for he was in rough shape when he came here...soaking wet and covered with snow...such a sad site...I took him in of course. I’m very fond of him..he is not demanding at all...and easy to give him whatever he wants as he had such a hard life prior....
Nice kitteh. Both of ours are tabbies - Norman’s a brown tabby and Miss Olivia is a black tabby. At 16 pounds + Miss O is large and in charge.
And yes, like yours, they are both love sponges. Miss O in particular likes to lie on her back on my desk while I’m working. If my monitors weren’t in stands and my keyboard and mouse on a slide in an under desk tray, I would get no work done.
It’s all about meeeeeeeeee! the CAT!
I don’t live near Houston but I wish I could adopt one they are adorable!

As a child I had as pets cats, domesticated rats, dogs of course, hamsters, rabbits, and loved them all, but cats were always my favorites especially the black, and whites.
When I first went to pick up my wife (now) for our first date at her home I met “Brighteyes” long hair, totally black with huge eyes, and instantly loved that cat. We (NOT Brighteyes, but my wife, and I.) married several years later, and have had over forty cats, and forty dogs in the 35 years since. They just seem to know we love them, and they come to us.
I’d love to have the money we’ve spent, and are spending over our married lives on them, the horses, the donkeys, ducks, and chickens. SHEESH!!! a small fortune in feed, and Veterinary costs, but well worth it IMO. It’s been a great ride.
I don’t know what my wife would do without the critters surrounding her at all times. She loves them so much.
Right now we are in an era of old. Not only us, but many of our critters, mostly cats are passing on now. We have lost five since January. Shorty the Dog, and cats Whiffy, Pharoah, MiMi, and yesterday we lost everybodies buddy Keezee (real name was Skeezix, but we called him Keezee). He was nineteen. Soon will be losing cat Piffy the Poop, Donkey Harry, and three dogs will be going to GOD also very soon Bailey, Carrie, and Shortzu. Bailey suffered a stroke in January, but is eager to live. He just keeps going. For a BIG dog at 19 years old (Red Lab) he’s indestructible. Carrie is a BIG Akita Shepherd mix 12 years old, and of course Shortzu who is a Shih Tzu we adopted, and quite old.
Off course now, so have to shut up. I think Mrs. RQSR was more confident in our relationship when she saw how Brighteyes, and I got along. We all became inseparable after that first encounter at her home.
Currently with the loss of Keezee yesterday we are down to 12 cats with four visitors to the ranch from around the valley, three dogs all old, two horses, and a donkey who are all 26 years old.
Thank you for having so much love for G-d’s creatures in your heart.
Wish I could but I leave near Pittsburgh, Mom said that she’d like to have a black cat again. We did have a black cat from Texas once, Muffin, she was a (half?) Burmese (but she looked purebred) my cousin found in Round Rock, Texas. When my aunt passed away from kidney cancer, we took her in and she lived to be almost 17. She had kidney failure but we kept her going for 2 and a half years with a good quality of life up until the last two weeks.
I do think we’ll place them. Black cats are always popular. We just weighed them again. They are now around 1 lb., 12 oz.
Oh-thank you so much for this thread-it has been a tough news week...I feel like my brain is going to explode!
My guy has a cat, but he really loves all animals which is one thing I love about him...but- he does have a unique ability to make me purr- so I guess that makes him a cat-guy!
;)
You’re very welcome.
Thank you, she IS gorgeous. A show quality Maine Coon, how could she not be? And, she KNOWS it, never doubt that, LOL!
Exactly!
