There is nothing endangered about Deer in the first place. It's like saying horses are endangered
in America but Horses were brought to America in the first place. It's also like saying Humans
with a mole on their nose is a special class of people who should be put on life support at
age ninety for fifty years.
This was a perfectly ruined chance to bag some venison for dinner.
How often does a hunter get the chance to bag a deer with a buck knife?

Mmmmmmm. “Poached” deer. And it appears to me that it was a Doritos bag on it’s head. Not a bag of Doritos. Miami herald. Headline says it right. Reporter gets it wrong. DOH! I can see a whole bunch of Doritos bags out in the woods now too. To hell with the salt licks.

The deer species in question here is another species similar to the White Tail only they're smaller in size and southern Florida is their primary habitat.

Not typical deer but Key Deer. These are a very small (and cute!) type of deer native to the Florida Keys.
Due to the high traffic road going through their habitat, they were mostly wiped out. One island was designated where the road is entirely fenced in and has special crossings for them.

Key Deer aren’t just run of the mill whitetails and they are at risk.
