Those of us that like a variety of takes on many issues are likely to get frustrated at times. Such was last night when I was listening to the good doctor. I've never questioned Dr. Savages' intellect or brilliance as an exceptionally educated individual. His premise was that Zimmerman's killing Martin was pre meditated. There is absolutely no truth to back that up. The fact that there was a round "chambered" and the weapon cocked proves nothing. George Zimmerman was prepared and based on what I've heard he defended himself possibly from severe head injuries or even death. I have another theory as well that perhaps Dr. Savage was trying to "stir the pot" to get the minority community to tune in and boost his listenership. That would be a brilliant move on his part. If you need a gun to defend yourself then there had better be a round in the chamber.
It takes two uninjured hands to rack and chamber easily and quickly.
I had this argument with two black gentlemen yesterday.They were claiming the fact of the round being chambered proved Zimmerman planned to shoot Martin.
I asked them repeatedly if they think a police officer carries a gun empty-chambered.Which they didn’t want to answer or hear.
For EVERY black I have heard in person express an opinion it all comes down to “Trayvon was black”.Nothing else truly matters.The more reasonable admit he wasn’t an angel BUT.....
and they keep saying Zimmerman was ORDERED by the police not to follow Martin.
One more point:by referring to Zinnerman and Trayvon,not Zimmerman and Martin, the media and others evoke sympathy for the “child”.
This whole trial is a travesty of injustice.
Punks of all colors should not be casing the neighborhood if they want to remain alive and well.

Maybe for law enforcement or military but for the rest of us it is the way to go. And in this case, if what Zimwad said was true, which it isn’t, he would not have had to worry about the gun being used against him.
A racking takes about half a second and with no other safety it is the only way Zimwad should have gone.
It would have been a good opportunity for Martin to finish crushing Zimmerman’s skull against the concrete while he ceased resisting in order to try to rack the slide. All bets are off if you lose control of your weapon, whether the attacker just has to pull the trigger or whether he has to rack the slide before blowing you away. You lose it, they’re gonna use it.
The time to rack and chamber a round is before you just have to have it. In the type of struggle he describes it would be difficult to get one hand free, let alone the two hands it would take to rack the slide. That is the reason for a safety on a loaded and charged weapon.

Be careful what you say. Guns without transfer bars should be carried chamber empty, guns without drop safeties, etc.
However, most modern self defense pistols should be carried (for self protection, i.e. concealed carry) with a round in the chamber.
How Zimmerman carried, in what condition, should be irrelevant in this trial.
I have that opinion too about Mr Weiner. I’ve read one of his books and it definitely was not something of brilliance. He has found a way to make money with his supposed conservative talk show schtick but I don’t believe he really means any of it, its just a schtick.

He came down on the side if Zimmerman being a man looking for trouble. Savage seemed to be thinking it was just fine for the young man to be walking close around the houses staying out of the rain. I agree with Zimmerman, the kid had no business being there. As a owner of one one houses I would be very uneasy and disturbed by a strong kid walking around my house in the rain.. Not a good thing to do.

Not at all. The pistol is a “double-action-only” semi-automatic, and does not need a safety any more than a double-action revolver does.

The 911 operator testified earlier and said there is no law requiring anyone to follow instructions of operators and they have no authority to order anyone that calls them to do anything.
