This is like when they attcked that young boy who sang the national anthem and wore mariachi clothing because he’s a mariachi singer. He did a fantastic job, but he was attacked. Marc Anthony is a well established singer who has been around for a long time. I can’t believe people would criticize him.

What a load. This baseball fan didn’t think anything of it.

Exactly.

Some folks are just desperate for controversy and will do anything to get it. I doubt any regular fans even noticed. I know I didn’t think anything of it.

I loved the irony of people complaining about him singing God Bless America while using the F bomb, sometimes directed at him, one time in saying something like f****** Christ.

My favorite, though, was:

Kesha, the girl who uses satanic images in her music videos and performances, should sing God Bless America? LOL!

In a population of 300m people, there are gonna be some bozos. As declasse as their statements are, I can't bring myself to give them a hard time. They are presumably law-abiding citizens and not given to engaging in unprovoked attacks on neighborhood watch volunteers, or beating 50-year-olds into comas. It's like that tempest in a teapot over the (black) store employee writing some epithet or other on the receipt. The way I look at it - she was a productive part of the economy, and that's worth celebrating, relative to the standards of today's youth.

The current regime in Washington and its handmaidens in the MSM have done an excellent job of Balkanizing our republic, and setting us at each other's throats. Even here on FR just yesterday, I was shocked and saddened to see the term "spic" being posted by another Freeper. I hadn't heard that since I was boy, when it was applied to me along with other colorful terms such as "Banana Boy," and "Beaner."

I vividly recall life in the U.S. during segregation and the race riots of the 1960s. That's why I never wax nostalgic about "The 60s" along with my contemporaries. It's was a time of drugs, violence, extreme racial animus, and entanglements in foreign wars without end. Looks like we've lost our way, and come full circle. God help us all. It's going to be a long national nightmare this time around.

This is uncomfortable. Puerto Ricans are US citizens, and clearly a separtate population from the hispanics who are allowed to invade the US. Why don't we hear any voices from the Puerto Rican community opposing the invasion of the US and "pathways to citizenship"? The media and politicians with their various agendae lump all hispanics together....that's racist.

Why don't Puerto Ricans have an education committee to make the distinction? Here in Cleveland, it seems that the Puerto Rican community is negatively impacted by the invasion, and is often categorized with them. (Ariel Castro didn't help)

It looks to me like most of the people criticizing him don’t have a very large vocabulary........mainly just the F bomb.

F-Bombs and single syllables inevitably paint a path leading to the democrat party...

Sounds more like a few idiots trying to prove the vast racism of America and I’m not buying it.

Baseball is full of hispanic players, are these “fans” outraged about that?

Wow, thanks for sharing, PowderMonkey. We're in Arizona and my kids love it here. They've not been subjected to racism that I'm aware of but we live in an area that's just full of good and decent people.

When we were in South Florida, it seemed that everyone around us had Latino heritage of some kind.

This was in New York - a liberal mecca. Says a lot, doesn't it?

I’m not a fan, but Mark Anthony is American - he can barely speak Spanish - and he was the star of Paul Simon’s Broadway show, Capeman, about 15 years ago.

Marc is a great singer and did not lip sync like the bouncee, drone who supports soetoro. He is American and loves our country like you and I do. “Good Post Tax-chick.”

Thanks for the agreement. Now let me tell you a funny story from Vietnam. Our site, Portcall, had no Vietnamese Air Force VNAF personnel working there. Many of the others sites did. The airmen and NCOs in the surveillance section would talk to other at distant sites to pass air traffic. When they couldn’t understand them our airmen or NCOs would say, “Put a GI on, Put a GI on” thinking they were talking with a VNAF. One night we were passing traffic to Paris control at Tan Son Nhut. The airman couldn’t understand the person on the other end of the line. So he made the comment above. The person on the other end of the line was a LTC from Puerto Rico working in the Air Defense Artillery (ADA) section and in the U.S. Army. His response was, “I am a GI you son-of-a-bitch!” After that our airmen were much more careful about using that term.

When he walked out I was thinking he looked like James Callis who played Dr Gaius Baltar on battlestar galactica.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0407362/

I’m thinking leftists are behind it because anyone likely to get upset about a hispanic singer is going to find baseball virtually unwatchable with all the hispanic players.

You may have nailed it.

I almost wonder if it's a scam to draw attention to racism? I mean, it's just such an extreme racist reaction it almost looks staged, like someone painting a swastika on their own car and then claiming a hate crime.

Could this be a planted scandal to generate more racial divide?

I have friends who admonish me for coming here. They feel racism is rampant, must be. Conservative is just code for racists.
I am half Puerto Rican. The comments on this thread make me proud to come here.
