In case you are interested, for the last two years the Canadian dollar has hovered between $0.94 and $1.06 US, with a median around par (that's $1.00 US if you follow me). The Canadian currency has strengthened a lot in the last few years due to a strong banking sector, good financial management from a Conservative government, a very low government deficit and a very strong resource sector. Keeping the value of the currency down is going to be fairly difficult in the next few years.
A new international bridge is being built over the Detroit River funded totally with Canadian money. It seems neither the state of Michigan nor the feds were able to come up with a dime to finance this critical infrastructure project.
A private Canadian company wants to build another cross border project, perhaps you have heard of it, the Keystone Pipeline. This would also be completely financed by Canadians.
Canada is lucky to share its only border with a friendly superpower. Conversely, the US is lucky to have an economically strong, English speaking democracy as it's neighbor. Your attempts at humor are ill informed at best. After Obama spends the next three years debasing the US dollar and running up the debt, we'll see who is laughing.
