I wish they wouldn't use the "heat index". Give the temperature and humidity, and let people figure it out.

It is not 108 in NYC.

The same for “wind-chill factor”. All you need to do, to eliminate the “wind-chill” effect, is wear wind-breaking clothes, and turn your back to the wind (or wear a balaclava too). The “heat index”, or “humidex” is a little harder to escape. However, your A/C works much, much better at 90*, with a “heat index of 110*, than it would at an actual 110*. These “factors” are good for nothing but hype for weather reporters.
