A similar thing happened to a friend of mine several years back. He was walking home from work and within a block of his house, when a mugger approached him from behind, stuck a gun to his neck and demanded his wallet. Before he could even reach for it, the guy shot him through the neck! Lucky for him, the bullet passed through without hitting any vitals and he survived. BTW, there was a bunch of kids across the street when this all came down but they claimed to the police that they didn’t see anything. Typical “no snitch” attitude that pervades Rochester, NY neighborhoods. The perp was never found.
He should pick out a possible suspect and give him a blast with a 12ga with 00 buck.
