Do you wash the jar B4 you recycle it?
I refuse to do that. It’s so dumb. You waste hot water and soap and time.....I put it in the regular trash.
Yes, I’m going to h3ll.
Yes, I do wash everything out before I recycle. Not because I am a greenie but because I am afraid of the trash police in Fort Worth.
If manufacturers would put peanut butter in straight side jars the last remnants wouldn't be so devilish to extract; but the shape is probably related to the plastic surviving the temps and pressures during canning.Oh yeah, and I nearly live off of peanut butter. I even stir a couple of tablespoons of it into my oatmeal.Used peanut butter jars make good 'collection' jars for garbage at the sink, like veggie peels and used tea bags and K-cups, because you can tighten the lid and toss them in the trash when full of garbage and the garbage can doesn't stink for the period before being hauled out to the rubbish bin. I use quart yogurt containers this way too.
Right on. We play the recycle game at home for one reason. My town charges for trash by the bag. Recycling is free but there is absolutely no way in the world I’m using my resources that I pay for (water) to clean out trash.
That has occurred to me, too.
