Thank you for posting this. I have been a Penn State and Joe Paterno fan for almost 50 years. I have bit my lip and not commented on the vile things said about this subject over the last year or so.
Today I had to just say that I fully believe that JoePa has been railroaded by the sick media. I feel better now after reading the article.
So I guess I will be flamed now. Fire away...
But you understand that just because you like someone's skills as a football coach doesn't mean that he's innocent, right?
I like Martin Scorsese and enjoy his films, but if it turned out that his longtime editor or cinematographer had been taking kids to the studio at night in order to abuse them, and a cameraman saw it and told Scorsese about it and his only response was to go to the studio head and studio security and say: "Hey I heard this might be going on" - and to never talk to the actual cops and to remain on his retired cinematographer's children's charity's board for years after - well, I would think twice aboiut saying: "I've enjoyed his movies for decades! The media must be railroading him!"
That isn't an analytical reaction - it's an emotional one.
The truth will come out. People should be more disgusted with the actions of the state of Pennsylvania than anything Joe Paterno ever did or didn’t do.
