You think the U.S. has a strategy? That would be a first.

The way things have been going the last few years, I don’t trust the word of politicians, I don’t trust the word of Muslims, I don’t trust the word of supposed witnesses, I don’t trust video (it can be faked), I don’t trust media outlets and I don’t trust pictures (they can be faked, too). I don’t feel like I can get a straight story out of anybody. I really have no idea if anything really happened or, if it did, who is responsible.

For that reason, I oppose any action right now. I come closest to believing Israel because they have existential skin in the game and I do not know what they want us to do. But whatever it is, Obama is probably against it.

This seems to be spinning out of control really fast.

The Middle East is the US’ business. I bet the strategy is to control control the Mediterranean and then move east toward Iran to relieve it of her nuclear weapons. Think of the pressure this would relieve on Israel and Lebanon if Iranian tentacles are cut off in Syria.

But that presumes those in charge have the best interests of the US at heart, don't think I see that.

BS. We had Iran completely surrounded from multiple points not 10 years ago. We could have relieved Iran of a LOT of things but once again, Democrats mucked things up. And as typical as history is, Democrats are making even a worse mess now (repeating history). Democrats think pf themselves first, party second, our country third. It is why they are the shittiest at warfare.

Do you think the US just magically entered WWII out of the goodness of its heart, won the war, and then led a fifty year war that ended up landing her on top of the world? There is plenty of strategy, even if we don’t like the current denizen in the White House.

I’m not going to post the pics, but do a google image search for chemical burns; I think Syria is dealing with more chem agents here (or I am totally wrong; but from what I just saw....)

Very good points! Syria is Iran’s puppet. So, we have to teach Iran a lesson or show them we mean business. Either way, next stop: Iran!

Burns yes, what caused them…who knows. In the second photo the gentleman has burns above and below his underwear, however, the underwear , while dirty, are not burned. Looks more, (to my untrained eye), like burns associated with a gas (chlorine/mustard).

something the Israelis us a lot?

It is white phosphorus aka 'willy pete' or WP, that glorious chemical that gives the beautiful long lasting white smoke for marking targets, screening and incendiary effects. Red phosphorus is also used, but it doesn't give that pillar of smoke as well as the WP.

Napalm is a great anti-personnel soft target weapon. It has fallen into disfavor in the US, Mk-77 firebombs are kerosene based, they are more green, but I doubt any in the 'splash' area really care.

All militaries concerned with winning use both WP and firebombs, not just Israelis.

I doubt it is as simple as that, more like GWB being impotent and unable to defend his actions and his administration. Don’t think the goals geopolitical goals aren’t the same under these last four Presidents.

That would be good for this country and the free world in general.

Therefore, you can bet the eternal salvation of your soul that it's not the strategy of The Won or the barbarians on the other end of his BlackBerry. If anything, they want to strengthen Iran and expedite their acquisition of nuclear weapons.

I do not know. I am a chemist, not a physician. However, I would have expected WP injuries to be more localized and deeper.

From our point of view not a chance, but even if the most red Socialist takes over the United States, it is still his country and he will not want to share power or give any up in some sort of dictatorship of the proletariat. Remember Mao and Stalin, when the interests of their countries diverged, they both used nationalism to attain their own goals, one became a Czar and the other an Emperor receiving the mandate from heaven.

It is pretty much that simple. Colin Powell (D, whether he admits it or not) stopped "us" from engaging and finishing the job back in '92. We have quisling dem's that are dragging this thing out and stonewalling our efforts at every turn. Nancy Pelosi effectively stopped the 4TH ID from crossing Turkey for a northern punch into Iraw with that freaking Armenian Resolution she introduced out of nowhere (well, not really from nowhere, AFTER she met with known terrorists overseas). Hell, look back further, Kennedy was meeting with Communists in an attempt to undermine Reagan. Kerry and his buddies meeting with Commies during Vietnam?

I can keep going. Democrats are what are keeping us from ending these conflicts, American hating Democrats and here we are again. They will make the situation worse because they are selfish pussies.

That “chemical rocket” raises some question through its careful positioning and the absence of products of combustion on the tail.

Haven’t seen Napalm or WP burns, but I’ve seen steam burns that looked like those.
