Not crazy. Stupid.

This is an example of how computers rule our lives. We have to do what the computers say, not the computers doing as WE wish.

Here’s what happened: Minimum wage kid is in front of a screen with GUI buttons, like on your smart phone. If the kid punches “hamburger”, the computer brings up the regular price. If she punches “cheeseburger”, the BOGO special price comes up.

SO - while she could have done it on her own, she probably did not think about it. She was working the way the machine wanted her to work. I’ll bet $100 that’s what happened.

One of my pet peeves.

And I wouldn’t be surprised if the cheese on that cheeseburger (hold the cheese) is thrown away for inventory purposes.

How about the MWK receiving a $2.00 bill and calling the manager to ‘check it out’. Manager chastises here and belittles her in front of customer and he tells her just take the money, put in how much and the machine will tell you how much change to give.

Of course, she followed his advice to the letter when a couple of days later a customer handed her a $40.00 bill......

Basically a true story BUT the bill involved was a $200.00 and she gladly handed out the change. I think she got canned NOT for the mistake but for accepting a bill OVER 20 without Manager Approval.....
