Petition Asking Democrat Party to Apologize for Supporting Slavery and Jim Crow
9/21/2013 | me

Posted on 09/21/2013 2:31:20 PM PDT by vbmoneyspender

The Democrat Party was the key supporter of slavery in this country. Once slavery was ended by force of arms, it then supported Jim Crow for decades afterwards. The Democrat Party has never apologized for the incalculable harm it inflicted upon the United States. It should now be required to apologize to all the citizens of the United States for the evil it did. The Democrat Party should also be required to pay reparations to every citizen for the harm it knowingly inflicted upon the citizenry when it supported slavery and then followed that up by implementing Jim Crow.

Was your Cro-Magnon ancestor acting on behalf of the Democrat Party when he did the clubbing? If so, then yeah the Democrat Party would have something to answer for.

They are still the slave owners of the blacks. Their chains are now in the form of EBT cards and subsidies.

That petition will get buried; gezz might as well ask minitrue to talk about James Fulbright (sp?) and Algore Sr!

Besides, Dimacrats don't apologize, they just blame Republicans.

Add the KKK and internment of hundreds of thousands of Americans based on their race during WW2 to the apology.

Oh, I’m a good old rebel,
Now thats just what I am,
And for this yankee nation,
I do no give a damn.
I’m glad I fought agin her
I only wish we won.
I aint asked any pardon for anything I’ve done.

I hates the yankee nation and eveything they do.
I hates the declaration of independence, too.
I hates the glorious union, t’is dripping with our blood.
I hates the striped banner, and fitt all I could

I rode with Robert E. Lee,
For three years, thereabout.
Got wounded in four places,
And I starved at Point Lookout.
I caught the rheumatism
campin’ in the snow.
But I killed a chance of Yankees
And I’d like to kill some more.

Three hundred thousand Yankees
Is stiff in southern dust.
We got three hundred thousand
Before they conquered us
They died of Southern Fever
And southern steel and shot
I wish there were 3 million
Instead of what we got.
I can’t pick up my musket
And fight ‘um down no more
But I ain’t gonna love ‘um
Now that is certain sure
And I don’t want no pardon
For what I was and am
I won’t be reconstructed
And I do not give a damn

Oh, I’m a good old rebel,
Now thats just what I am,
And for this yankee nation,
I do no give a damn.
I’m glad I fought agin her ,
I only wish we won.
I aint asked any pardon for anything I’ve done.

Today’s slavery is of the “kinder, gentler” variety.
So long as they vote Dhimmocrat, of course. Otherwise they will get Wacoed.

Yes and the Demokkkrats of the 50’s and 60’s pre-civil rights NEVER changed their party affiliation. They were D’s before civil rights. They were D’s after civil rights.

To hear a D tell it, the ones who were behind Jim Crow, Bull Connor, Bob Wallace are now really Republicans. FALSE. They were D’s before & after. There are two very nice youtube videos, although some annoying background music, that scrolls through all the names, their time in Congress or other office, how they voted AGAINST civil rights.

They have twisted, distorted and revised history on this. And the R’s have LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT. Makes me want to puke.

Looks like the Democrat Party hasn't changed much in 150 years.

All of a sudden I see reparation differently. Maybe blacks should be entitled to damages from the people who are registered democrats, especially people who have served as elected representatives of the democrat party.

No problem signing. Here is the letter I send out each year to celebrate black history Month and Roe vs. Wade.
Roe v. Wade and Black History Month

As “fire eaters” on both sides drove this country towards civil war, Democrats professed an apparent contradiction. They demanded protection for slavery where existing, and the right to take their “property” into the territories. They demanded the right to trade their “property” across state lines, and enforcement of the Fugitive Slave Law. Yet during the last heated debates and for years prior, these same people joined the near universal condemnation of the international slave trade.

This contradiction vanishes when understanding the South was being overrun with their “peculiar property”. Democratic Senator Alfred Iverson of Georgia said before Congress in 1861, “We know well that we never can enjoy equal possession of the territories without protection of our property….. They increase, according to the last census bill, at the rate of 32% every ten years.” Meaning the South needed new slave states and plantations to absorb the increasing population.

One hundred fifty years later the Black Community provides 90% voting plurality to the Democratic Party, and adopts their Pro-Choice sacrament of abortion. According to the Centers for Disease Control, black women in 2008 accounted for over 40% of abortions, though blacks constituted about 13% of total population. Applying antebellum population growth to the post Roe v. Wade period would mean 68 million blacks instead of the 42 million currently living.

So what benefits accrue from a 90% voting support now compared to the Antebellum 3/5 compulsory Constitutional enrichment of the master’s status?

Why? That was then, this was now.

And, anyway, do we really want to start being whiny little b*tches like the Dems are?

I’ll pass.

Talk about distractions from actual issues.

The Democrat Party's authoritarian tendencies are the issue. And there is a direct authoritarian lineage running from the Democrat Party's support of slavery, then to its implementation of Jim Crow and now on to its current expansion of federal power. That lineage needs to be traced for many people so that they can understand why the Democrat Party is the single biggest enemy of individual liberty in this country.
