Got a call from the RNC this morning...

The guy said "I'll be brief".

Although I usually hang up on them I occasionally have a bit of fun with the kids calling to solocit donations to my alma mater. They usually start out (as they've no doubt been told to) with "How are you this evening?" Occasionally I'll answer "Not as good as if I hadn't been bothered with solicition calls." But sometimes going past thatI let them go into how my donations are needed to fund scholarships.

"Really? I read that all financial aid at *** was based on need."

Then the verbal wiggling commences, "Well yes, but they're scholarships for the needy."

"So what you're saying is that any donation I would offer would only go to those whose parents spent their money on immediate gratification rather than saving for their childrens' education? Why should I help these people out? Let them take out loans." Or sometimes I go with I worked my way through college (only partially true - my parents paid about 1/3) Why can't these students do they same?"

It usually goes downhill from there.

Bleeggghhh is right - Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin are my Senators. I can’t bring myself to call them, but I know I should just so they can’t say “everyone loves Obamacare who called our office.”

I got a call about a year ago. I told them I had no more money to give to my masters. But I was begging, borrowing and stealing for any of those who work to rescue me from this passive group of Career GOP politicians.

I made the caller write it down and read it back to me.

Coming into contact with heavy, unabated liberalism is a mentally traumatizing event. I wonder if the guy who takes the calls actually has to report every comment made to the Senator that he works for? Or if he's just there for PR?

I've told them several times that I now only support candidates of my choice and don't trust them to help distribute my little contributions.

We’ve blocked all calls political along with no caller ID ones. Our (ahem) Representative (?) in WDC has a town hall by phone several times year.......so we blocked him too.

I wish I could still call Stabenow and Levin. I was blown away a few years ago. I now get to call Cardin and Mikulski. Actually I can’t call Mikulski, her office doesn’t answer the phone. One ring and a hangup.

I’ve gotten two calls from a Washington D.C. number. When I did a search for the number ending in 6421, I found other people claiming they’d gotten calls too, and that it was Rick Santorum calling with a recorded message. I don’t keep my ringer on, and don’t use my message machine. They can keep calling, but I’ll never take their calls. One person commented that they need to stop calling or they’ll start voting Democrat. LOL!!

I’d butt in and tell him that I have about $2500/year (depending on how business is going) budgeted for direct contributions to candidates and not one thin dime to the GOP or any of it’s affiliated orgs. Further, I won’t donate to any candidate that shares funds with the GOP — *THAT’S* how sincerely I want to starve the GOP of funds until it either reforms it’s RINO ways and returns to bold conservatism -or- they fade into history having been replaced by a new, conservative party.

Then I would ask, “Does your RINO-Supporting call-script have a believable answer for that?” and as soon as the first syllable left his mouth, I’d talk over him saying, “You’re full of bull-butter and there’s no reason I should trust anything you’ve got to say!”

*THEN* I’d hang up.

Well, that’s what I’d LIKE to do, but I’d probably just hang up right off the and save my breath.

I've done that, too. I make sure and tell them that my REAL, hard earned $$ only goes directly to conservative candidates like Ted Cruz.

I got an email this morning asking me for $12 dollars. That’s not a typo. I wrote back “When you kick McCain and McConnel and the rinos out of the party, I’ll donate. I know kicking them out will make them vote with the democrats. So, what else is new?”
