I don’t think it was planned so much as allowed to happen. They could have stopped it but didn’t. Why? Because they knew the GOP was without a plan or leadership (Yeah, I’m looking at you Ted Cruz). He was also aware that the RINO’s would cave. He let his enemies shot themselves. And it worked and it worked well.
The way this was handled by Cruz and some others was a disaster. I don’t care if I agree with what you want, but you just don’t blow something up and walk away. Could he have kept it shutdown? No. But there was no plan and no message. Would a filibuster work?) NO he did not filibuster). Not ultimately, but you do it anyway.
The WH has read Dun Tzu. We used it all the time against inept Defense Atty’s. You let the enemy defeat themselves once you see they don’t know what they are doing.
And, no .... they didn’t know what they were doing. I also go back to what I have said on Issa. You can’t just point a finger and yell. You have to be thorough. You have to have a plan. You have to work ALL angles. You can’t just stand up and scream. And that is all some of these people are doing. Screaming.
I know there are some big Cruz fans here.I still kind of am but was much more before. But seeing these types of people coming to Court was a Prosecutor’s dream. We knew they would just yell to the jury about the police, how terrible the Prosecutor was, etc. But they had no case. And as bad as they may have tried to make us look, even if believed, at the end of the day they were inept. Cruz and Co was inept on this one. Hopefully they won’t continue to be.
