Actually it does exactly the opposite. It removes the individual accountability of each person for his own daily sustenance and in doing so it makes the individual totally dependant on the state for his continued existence. Any person that is dependant on the state for his daily bread is a slave to the state; that person no longer has any right to or power to decide his own fate.
It helps to close the gaps by putting food security of all citizens at the top of the decision-making hierarchy, and making these decision-making processes participatory and accountable, he said.
Making food a basic right will return civilization and government back to the days of Pharaohs Egypt where the potentate collected all of the produce of the farms and distributed the food stuff to the citizens. Do we really wish to return to the day when the state had total power over the citizen?
