After THE O once again got smashed by ol' school Stanford the road to the last BCS championship is clear if 'Bama and FSU win out. (Interesting commentary by FOX Sports Chris Landry who diagnosed that once Stanford stops the Oregon's inside run the wheels come off their offense). Not looking like an interesting slate of games this week with the highlights of UGA with Gurley back @ War Eagle, Stanford @ USC, and Ok State @ Texas.

The seas have parted for FSU: no tough games remain for them (including Florida and the ACC championship). They are a mortal lock for the title game.

Alabama, conversely, still has some work to do: Auburn and Missouri (SEC Champ game) are both looking much tougher than expected back in September. They should prevail.

That, of course, leaves Ohio State out in the cold... again. Probably just as well: I’d have to believe they would be embarrassed vs. either of the top two... maybe even by 7 or 8 of the top 10.

What’s funny are the SEC fans (and Ohio State fans) all over Facebook trying to trash-talk the Seminoles, who have beaten (and destroyed) two top-10 teams this year.

I’d say it was the other way around...Oregon couldn’t consistently stop Stanford’s inside run in less that 4 or 5 yards. More interesting is how Baylor can’t seem to get any respect. They’re undefeated and they can’t pull enough points to pull in front of Stanford.

Bama and FSU should win out..it'll be a great championship game...It's really fascinating, and tricky, to guess what happens if one of them stumbles. I can't see FSU losing..(and BTW..the game against Florida will be really, really ugly..I was at the Vandy game, and the Gator Nation ain't happy with Coach "Boom") so the only possible upset is if Auburn beats Bama...and I give them a chance.. it's at Auburn..lord knows what they'll do to/at Toomer's Corner if they win.

Assume Bama loses..very likely a close game..do they drop behind OSU and Baylor? The SEC championship won't help Bama in the polls, they'll play either SC or Missouri..Clemson will have buried the Gamecocks prior, and the Aggies will have beaten Mizzou..so that's no help.

If both Baylor and OSU win out..I think Baylor could jump OSU in the polls..

I'm still not sold on OSU..because they haven't really been tested. I think that MSU can take them in the B1G championship..

Can't wait until next year for the 4 way playoff..

Thanks for the recognition of my team’s game, Okla. State @ UTex, as one of the premier games of the weekend. It should be a battle but I see a victory by OkSt that then lines them up for a chance to take down the Baylor Bears for the Big 12 Conference championship the next Saturday. Glad that game will in Stillwater instead of Waco...

I really hope if it’s FSU versus Alabama they FSU coaches better figure out fast that Nick Saban—when given a month to do coaching preparation—will figure out a way to slow down FSU’s high-flying offense.

As a ‘Bama fan, I give ‘Bama a 50/50 change to win out. Auburn and Mizzou are both playing tough. If ‘Bama does win out, FSU will be a VERY tough game!
