LOL
That was “Sweeney Todd”, right? I had to think hard...my head is fogged up with a cold.
Singing in a drama goes back to ancient times. The Greek plays were all originally sung.
I’m almost tempted to watch the NBC “live” SOM just for the Plan 9 level of awfulness it looks like it’s going to have. It starts with the idea of doing this annoying musical in the first place, then do it live, then give it a cast that’s laughable at best (”let’s get people who can’t act OR sing and have them do a musical”). This promises to be some of the worst TV ever.
TSOM, in its original version, is a literate and intelligent musical - the bad guys aren’t the Nazis but the essentially good people who don’t actively oppose them.
Yes, I know. It’s a good thing I wasn’t an ancient Greek.
Really?
Do = Doe.
Re = Ray
Mi = Me.
Fa = Far.
So = Sow.
La = La. The one she spelled correctly. That's the joke.
Ti = Tea.

While my wife and I found this new TV play unwatchable, I am sharp enough to comprehend that the allusions in the song were written long before NBC decided to cast this pig and more than likely before this sow of a curmudgeon was even born.
So, it still stands that I don't really understand what the flock this is supposed to mean other than proof of her vacuous intellect.
