Remember, the threshold used to be 67 votes, then during the supermajority that happened post watergate for the democrats they lowered it to 60.

History shows the lower the number is the more chaotic government becomes, having a higher number ensures that both parties work together no matter who is in the majority.

You're right. I'm no big fan of George Will, but he once said something I agree with: Government gridlock is good. If a law cannot be agreed upon by both parties, then it probably isn't a good law.

Obamacare is a prime example of that.
