Because I want a BIG TV. When I walked into BJs and saw that tv, I paralyzed. I was so taken by the color and the size. It just floored me. I cannot describe it. I am not a particularly materialistic person, and tend to buy durable and good value over flashy. As a matter of fact I regret, at times my Yankee upbringing, for it is about good wools, silks and cottons. all understated.
In retrospect, I wish I could have worn clothing with sparkles.
This TV is out of character for me. But I do want it. I want to enjoy big tv in my library.
Since you like BIG, have you considered getting a projector and a screen rather than a tv? You may be able to get one much more reasonably priced at a similar quality. I lucked out and got a used Epson projector with a 110 inch screen for $500, we love it.
